Rose+Water

IMG_0928

A few months ago, on a shopping spree with my sister, we decided to buy and try some new interesting products. By the title, you may guess what was one of the goodies- rose water. We fell in love with this old skin remedy instantly. Sadly good things come to an end and to be honest, I am not desperate to spend 8 euros on a small bottle again. Let’s face it – it is a bit overpriced.

Rosewater ingredients can be read out straight from its name- rose+water. This two simple ingredients at first may seem like nothing, but a miracle is covered under simplicity. You can get benefits of water along with anti-inflammatory(oil) advantages of rose.

Ways of using rose water are endless, however, I will show you some of my favorites and in addition, step by step tutorial.

Facial Mist:

  1. Remove petals from stems and run them under cold water to remove any leftovers.
  2. Add petals in a pot or in my case in a glass smoothie mug.
  3. Boil water in a kettle and top rose petals just enough to cover them up no more.
  4. Let it sit for 20-30 min or unless petals have lost their color.
  5. Separate petals from the water

Perfect to use as a facial mist or toner. Refreshes, sets makeup and moisturizes.

Detox ice cubes:

  1. Put petals in an ice cube mold.
  2. Top with distilled water.
  3. Leave in a refrigerator over night.

Perfect to use in the morning or after a long day. Leave petals under the eye, like an eye patch, and it will do wonders against tired eyes and dark circles. Or spread around the face to minimize pores and feel awake/refreshed.

You are done! So easy and quick but at the same time so clean and natural.

Note

Store rosewater in a sealed glass container in a  fridge, unless needed so that it could keep for a longer time.( I used smoothie glass that had a cap with a hole. This worked perfectly, plus, if to use it straight up after fridge it is incredibly refreshing, good as a morning mist.)

But do you like rose water? How do you prefer to use it? Let me know.
